Lagadia is a picturesque Arcadian town, at an altitude of 900 meters on the overgrown slopes of Mainalo.

An elegant stone artifact, with impressive two-storey stone and three-storey houses built amphitheatrically on a steep slope, in an imposing landscape. The central square of the village stands right on the edge of the ravine and is full of plane trees. From this ravine begins the steep gorge where the Lagadiano River flows, Tuthos, which crosses a large part of Gortynia and between the forested slopes ends at the river Ladona. The village is divided into two neighborhoods. The upper part of the village, Pano Neighborhood, is unique in scenery and has magnificent views. Here is the historic home of the Deligiannites with relics of the family and the old churches of the Holy Taxiarches, in Heroes' Square, and the Holy Apostles in the Lower Neighborhood. Both churches are characterized by their peculiar belfry. You will also see the Temple of the Holy Forerunner, which was built in 1808 over 40 days. all over Arcadia, the Peloponnese, but also in the rest of Greece. The view of the village houses is a great proof of their ability and reputation in stone art. They took the lead in Moria's liberation struggle against the Turks. The history of the place was linked during the Turkish occupation with the Deligianna family, one of the richest and most powerful families in the village. In the Heroes' Square, in the center of the village, the fallen column mentions the great participation of Lagadians in national races. Local shops offer local pastries as well as textiles and woodwork. Lagadia has been officially designated since 1987 as a traditional settlement.
